Completing the season dedicated to the memory of founding Coach Mike McGean '49, Dartmouth Figure Skating brought home the national championship trophy for the 6th time in the championship's 13-year history.
Joseph Miller '14, the team's first skater in the competition, got the team off to a strong start winning Junior men's short program. The team built on that first title, collecting medals and points in all the events that followed.
After the first day of the two-day competition led by gold medalists Miller, Deborah Lee '12, Kirsten Seagers '15 and Isabel Hines '13, Dartmouth held a slim 3.5 point lead in a tight battle with fellow East region teams, Boston University and the University of Delaware.
Day Two became Dartmouth's day, dominating the scoring in the Dance events. More gold poured into the Dartmouth coffers with Deborah Lee and Caroline Knoop each adding two dance championship titles and Kelsey Anspach '15, posting the win in Junior Dance. In the Low, Intermediate and High Team maneuvers, the Big Green shone silver, each team finishing 2nd.
